God Still Speaks: June 5th

"It was an incredible Holy Spirit experience I shall never forget!"

Scripture reference: Acts 2:2-4 (NLT) Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.”

In 1987, while on a mission trip in the Dominican Republic, my husband Don and I went to a large Leprosarium in Haiti to minister to the lepers. Only the people who worked there spoke any English. Upon arrival, I was assigned to a large group sitting around a table in a separate room.

Immediately, the Holy Spirit told me to pray for them right away in His Holy language. After a short time, I heard Him tell me to stop. The group all began talking with one another excitedly. They then stopped and looked back at me.  The Holy Spirit had me pray again, and after a few moments, told me to stop once more. The people talked among themselves and looked back at me. God was having us carry on a conversation through the Holy Spirit!

After quite some time one of the workers came into the room and said, “I had no idea you spoke our language!”  What a huge WOW!

Afterward, even though we were told not to touch the lepers, we all hugged as they left the room. I just did what the Holy Spirit told me to do! It was an incredible Holy Spirit experience I shall never forget! It was proof that He speaks to us and through us.

Question to consider:
What does the Holy Spirit fervently want you to hear from God today?

Would you pray this prayer: “Dear heavenly Father, our most precious Abba Daddy, how we thank you for the awesome blessing of your Holy Spirit. We are so grateful that He speaks to us and through us.  We fervently pray for the opportunity to pray for others to receive the Holy Spirit and for Him to release the prayer language He has chosen just for them. We lift this up in prayer and thank you in advance for your will to be done.  In Jesus’ everlasting love we pray. AMEN.”
