Update September 28, 2022
Hi CrossRoad family,
I invite you to join me in praying today for the people of Cuba and South Florida that are in the immediate path of Hurricane Ian. As of the latest update from the National Hurricane Center, the storm is expected to move in the general direction of the west coast of Florida, and there is a possibility of high winds and heavy rainfall in the Jacksonville area beginning as early as Wednesday evening.
We’re monitoring the storm, and I wanted to go ahead and let you know our plan for inclement weather at the church. In the unlikely event that we are unable to have a worship service on Sunday morning or regular activities next week, we will post an announcement on Saturday evening on our Facebook page, via email, and here on our website. At this point, we do not foresee a need to cancel any activities scheduled for Sunday. However, we have made cancellations for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday’s events.
- Kingdom Kids Preschool is closed Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- Youth events for Wednesday night are canceled.
- GriefShare on Thursday morning is canceled.
- Choir practice Thursday evening is canceled.
- The Big Book Club on Friday evening is canceled.
- Young adult events are canceled, including the Friday movie night and Saturday corn maze.
- CrossRoad offices will be closed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
In the meantime, now is a good time to review your storm preparation plan. The City of Jacksonville has a really helpful guide.
Stay safe,
CrossRoad Church
